GiftLayer is a personalised gift studio in Hyderabad, making name-based gifts to order and shipping them anywhere in India. Photo frames, keychains, pen stands and nursery name plates — every one of them built around a single name.

The name is not printed on at the end. At GiftLayer the name is the piece: you type it, watch it take shape in the live preview, choose a lettering style and a colour, and we make that exact thing. Nothing is stocked, so nothing turns up with somebody else's name on it.

The brand is written as one word — GiftLayer, not Gift Layer. If you have seen it spelt with a space somewhere, that is us too.

Every piece is designed around a single line of text, and the limit is 12 characters. That covers the overwhelming majority of Indian first names, almost every nickname, and short dates like 14.02.2019. Spaces count as a character, so Sai Ram uses seven of the twelve.

Longer names still work — they just prefer a different piece. Short names hold their shape on the small things, so keychains and pen stands are happiest with something brief. Photo frames and nursery name plates have more room across the top and carry a longer name without the letters shrinking away.

If you are torn between a full name and a short form, type both into the live preview on the product page. It redraws as you type, at the real proportions of the finished piece, so you can see which one holds together before you decide. That is faster than any rule we could write here.

Every product offers three lettering styles, and the difference is more practical than decorative. Rounded is the forgiving one — soft, friendly and legible at any size, which is why it is the default on keychains and on anything going into a child's room. Bold has real weight in the stroke and reads from across a room, so it suits a name on a door or a shelf. Elegant is a joined script: the prettiest of the three and the least forgiving, so give it a name of moderate length and a piece with room around it.

The colours are Blush, Teal, Charcoal, Marigold and Lilac. Blush and Lilac sit naturally in a nursery. Charcoal is the one that quietly disappears into a bookshelf or a desk and lets the shape of the name do the work. Marigold is the festive one, and the one that photographs best against a wall.

If you are matching a room rather than a person, choose the colour first and let the style follow.

Because nothing is made until it is ordered, there are two clocks. The first is production: 2–3 days from the moment you place the order. The second is the courier — metro cities usually see delivery 2–4 days after dispatch, and the rest of India 4–7 days. Every parcel ships with a tracking link, and shipping is free on orders over ₹499.

In practice, plan on about a week to a metro address and up to ten days elsewhere. If the gift is for a birthday, an anniversary or a festival, work backwards from that date and leave yourself a few days of margin — the courier leg is the part neither of us controls.

Yes, and it costs nothing. Every order is wrapped before it ships, so the parcel can be handed straight over. There is no gift-wrap checkbox at checkout and no charge hiding behind one.

For the pieces that hold a photograph, the photo is a separate step. After checkout we email you a secure link to upload it, so you can order today and find the right picture later without holding anything up.

One thing worth thirty seconds of your time: because every piece is made to order and carries one specific name, a misspelling cannot be resold or corrected after it has been made. Read the name back to yourself in the live preview before you add to cart. That preview is drawn from the same design file we work from, which makes it the last honest check you get.
